Welcome to the Campus Budget Office

The Campus Budget Office (CBO) provides executive management with objective, accurate, and timely information and analyses to inform central decision-making and strategic planning, including guiding the annual budgetary process, assessing ongoing budget and planning issues, and establishing and monitoring controls over fund allocations.

Our mission is to effectively manage the budgetary resources of the Berkeley campus in support of instruction, research, and public service. We're responsible for ensuring that campus budgetary policy and practice conform to federal, state, and university regulations. We work with campus academic and administrative units in guiding the annual budgetary process, assessing ongoing budget and planning issues, and establishing and monitoring controls over fund allocations. It provides decision support through cost benefit analysis, institutional research, and data reporting, analyzing, and forecasting. Read about the CBO's structure, and how we can help serve your needs.

Your Portfolio Budget Officer

Portfolio Budget Officers (PBOs) organize and deliver budget processes for the campus. As the first point of contact for most campus financial professionals' interactions with the Campus Budget Office, they enhance the resources available to enable the best financial management, planning, and analysis for your unit. Access the list of PBOs.

Your Divisional Financial Leader

Divisional Financial Leaders (DFLs) develop and implement the budget process, advise leadership on key budgetary decisions, and serve as an advocate for the needs and priorities of their division. Access the list of DFLs.
